Hey Alex,
I'm quite unhappy with some of the ridiculous garbage Apple has decided is cool or useful.
For instance:
I think the accented character doodad is handy, but since I use key-repeat for numerous things on a frequent if not daily basis I find it gets in my way. I only use accented characters now and then. So far I haven't found any way to turn the bloody thing off or change it to require a modifier key. Bad Apple; bad! :)
I've turned off inertia but still have to put up with the bloody spring-loaded nonsense - with my trackpad - but it seems not with a mouse. This "feature" actually gives me vertigo.
The Desktop folder has turned into something really alien that doesn't properly display the modified date unless the window is really large. Expanding folders in it is a peculiar experience.
Stupid and slow animation on open/close folder in list-view in the Finder.
Useless Address Book redesign.
I think I could write about 6 pages of complaints, and I've only just used the new system for about 24 active hours.
On the other hand there are some distinct improvements. Spotlight is way faster on my machine (MacBook Pro i7). Mail has some Applescript improvements although still no 'get/set selection'.
So it's a mixed bag.
I hope to God there are vociferous complaints and that Apple is smart enough to make revisions.
I also hope there are hidden settings that will let me fix some of the major things I don't like.
Getting back to Applescript:
Has anyone else had crashes on Lion with Script Debugger's OSAImporter for Spotlight?
I'm having crash after crash of the mdworker process, and the log's show:
Process: mdworker32 [5951]
Path: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/Metadata.framework/Versions/A/Support/mdworker32
Identifier: mdworker32
Version: ??? (???)
Code Type: X86 (Native)
Parent Process: launchd [174]
PlugIn Path: /Applications/Applications (Chris)/*/Script Debugger 4.5.app/Contents/Library/Spotlight/OSAImporter.mdimporter/Contents/MacOS/OSAImporter
PlugIn Identifier: com.latenightsw.OSAImporter
PlugIn Version: 1.0 (4.5.7)

I'm corresponding with Mark Alldritt about this, but I'd be glad to know if I'm not the only one having issues.

Chris
