I don't think it "sucks".
I think it's a new version of the OS. Every version of an OS has some kind of quirks and additions that people don't like. For instance, I'm not really a fan of the disappearance of the chicklet (or whatever you call that thing). Lozenge -- yeah. Apple usually puts out a couple updates into the 10.x.3 series that fix things. Let's hope they listen to some of the feedback and take it to heart.
On the other hand, I love a lot of things about Lion. The responsiveness, the new Mail client, etc.
To each his own. I everyone is going to be wrong, or right, depending on their point of view.
