Hello my friends,
This is published at Apple's site, among 250 new features:
Set up your Mac in your languageLion supports 22 different languages in VoiceOver, so you can set up your Mac in almost any language.
I tried one beta version of Lion that did speak portuguese (from Portugal), and now as I downloaded Lion from app Store I am not able to activate portuguese language.
I try to just "switch" languages in "System Preferences" --> "Language and Text", and it doesn't work.
I just write a short script "say blah" in AS Editor.
I am not sure if Lion assumes the language you picked in the very first window before installing the OS and then uses it as default, or if I am not getting to switch correctly.
I would love to read your comments, and propose a few questions:
1) Can I switch the default speech language using an AppleScript command?
2) Can I force speech to pronounce just one word or one frase in a given language? Such as "say "blah" using language "foo""???
3) I have many programs and script that use speech and now with Lion the results are just uncontrollable. I can a scripter handle these? What if your script has a "say done" line and it is executed under chinese language?
4) How am I supposed to switch the default speak language?
Thanks,
