If you didn't see it in Smile, maybe you should look again. You have
to display the tiff file in a graphic window with the "drawimage"
command, then just save the window as "whatever.pdf", that's enough to
let Smile understand you want pdf.

Hi:
I'm looking for a free and easy way to save a TIFF ( TIF ) file to
the PDF format with a new name. Image Events doesn't do it,
Automator doesn't let me control the location and filename, I didn't
see it in Smile, and ImageMagick seems to require a huge complicated
terminal installation. I'm thinking more of a simple shell command
or binary where I can do something like "tif2pdf /folders/
infile.tif /differentfolders/newnames.pdf" or similar. Hopefully
it's already in OS X somewhere, but it would be OK to have an
osaxen, binary or an app to install. It seems weird to me that this
doesn't already exist, as I read that PDF is the Mac's display
technology.
Thanks,
