Thanks for the suggestion of skim. It can find all the pages I need, but I can not seem to figure out how it can copy from one document to another using applescript. It also does not seem to allow me to delete pages. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Also, thanks to Christian who also recommended skim.

since Preview isn't really scriptable, you might give "Skim" a try. Skim is free and scriptable and can copy pages from one document to another.
So it might be worth to to take a look at.
