Oops. I did something dumb. Literally!

Remove the word "Dumb" from the code I posted. It should read:

   set prefs to do shell script "defaults read ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences AppleICUNumberSymbols"

FYI, I was using a non-existent keyname to test the error trap, and accidentally left it in.  :-)
