For some strange reason

Hi all,
For some strange reason this is not working:

set myVar to "hello"

set theResult to upper case myVar

I know for shure that I have used that before. I get an error: Can´t read upper case "hello".

Same problem with lowercase.

Any idea what´s wrong here?
