Smart Mailboxes

The list archives are back up but the search seems to be broken. So I apologize if this has already been discussed.

I was wondering if there is anyway to access “Smart Mailboxes” or the “Reminders” (flagged mail 10.7) from applescript?

I currently have a script that crawls through all inboxes and acts on the msgs found. I thought it would be much faster if I could just search the flagged mail (I assume it is a form of smart mailbox) or a smart mailbox.
