I'm looking for a way to read IPTC and EXIF info from photos (I'm
interested in 'date taken', 'width', 'height', 'title','headline',
'caption' and 'keywords'). I've previously used Aperture to read this
info but I would like to make a version of the script that doesn't
rely on Aperture.
I've searched a bit and most info I've found either suggest the use of
'ExifTool' or 'mdls' which is called using a shell script. Other
suggestions involve some application like GraphicConverter.
I would like to make a script that depends on as few external
apps/scripts as possible. In other words, I would like to avoid the
use of ExifTool or GraphicConverter.
Is there some other way of getting the IPTC/EXIF info other than
'mdls', is there for example a scripting addition that would get the
info for me?
(It doesn't seem that I'm able to get the IPTC info using 'Image Events')
