I would like to traverse the links of a series of InDesign documents (book contents) and add parsed elements of the parent document's name as metadata. I'm not finding read/write functionality for adding metadata in Image Events (Leopard).
I can put together the code to traverse the book contents documents and access their image links. I'm not sure how to add the metadata to the images.
Ideally, what I'd like to do would be something like:
Assuming a document name of 701-VintageCampers.indd, I would like to and the following metadata to each linked graphic:
701-VintageCampers.indd
VintageCampers
700 (since each 3-digit prefix represents a book section)
Perhaps there are terminal commands that could be brought to task.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
