set index of folder

Hi,

I would like to create a folder action that changes the label index of the folder to indicate it is empty/not empty.

Is it even possible?

This snippet fails;

tell application "Finder"
set f to POSIX path of "/Users:myname:Desktop:Scans ƒ"
set the label index of f to 3

end tell
