In response to this old thread. Did anyone ever come up with a reliable method of fixing this problem? I'm running Lion now and still having this happen.

Shane how are you suggesting to lock the file? chmod?

Yvan suggested copying the preferences out and replacing them each reboot. Yvan, can you confirm that you do something like this


do shell script "cp ~/Documents/BackupPrefs/com.apple.applescript.plist ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.applescript.plist"

Does this work well for you?
