These comments are recent, so I presume that they started appearing after I upgraded to Lion.
I fixed my script to avoid the "missing value" (I just leave that blank), but I can't avoid Mail returning missing value for the name of a recipient. Something seems to be wrong with Mail.

Hey Luther,
I can't fix a time on when "missing value" became the return-value for a missing name in Mail, but it [Mail] has for a very long time used the Address Book to fill-in said name if the AB contains the correct information (when the name is missing in the sent email).
This is confusing of course when you script Mail, because a field that "obviously" contains a value does not return one in the script.
I think I noticed this as far back as Snow Leopard, but it's been too long for me to be certain.
