It's also pretty easy in AppleScriptObjC:
tell current application's NSURL to set theURL to URLWithString_(x) return theURL's |path|() as text
0000.000 -- Start -- 0000.001 Result --> /Users/yvankoenig/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview/Data/Desktop/Hȁussermȃn.pdf
Or via ASObjC Runner:
script thePath set aString to current application's NSApp's convertedValue() tell current application's NSURL to set theURL to URLWithString_(aString) return theURL's |path|() end script
tell application "ASObjC Runner" to set theResult to run the script {thePath} converting x with result returned display dialog theResult
Thank you all.
When my scripts are written to answer an user question, I try to answer without third party products.
I was wondering if Sed or Ruby were able to do the trick with a simpler syntax.
At this time I continue to search an explanation to the fact that I am unable to get System Events to return the Window's properties listed in its dictionary. Am’I dumb or is there something wrong in the dictionary ?
