thanks for pointing this out.
I think that this is a Finder bug. I also believe that it precedes Lion.
I have had this problem with the "Finder" for a while.
Many times I click on an alias and this brings the very dialog that you mention (Delete/Fix).
Dismiss the dialog and it opens the file whose alias I clicked and the Finder complained about.
I've been thinking of reporting this bug, but since it happens with some files only and my first impulse is to just go on, I forget.
I believe it is time to report, I am not crazy.
If you report it as well, we have a stronger bug.
However, I don't remember having this problem with TextEdit
