Filter barcode out of a string (with grep?)

  • Subject: Filter barcode out of a string (with grep?)

Hi,

I have a string with values that are separated by a semicolon for example "one;two;0123456789123456;tuesday;green"

Sometimes (not always) the string contains a barcode of 16 digits (as in the example). If the string does indeed contain a barcode I want to catch it in a variable. Is there a smart (grep?) way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Bert.
