I disagree. This just *looks* bigger because you don't like it. There have been lots of other dramatic changes. Remember things like desktop printers? But now we're off-topic again. Let's give the issue a break -- complaining here won't change anything.
Complaining anywhere won't change anything.
So, it's 5 AM I've just been messing with disabling Auto Termination for the last few hours and in the Wonderful World of Lion, there are a bunch of very unpleasant changes including system level overrides for application settings, code signing on apps that may prevent modification of app info.plists, no more distributed builds as of Xcode 4.3 and a few other nasties that are quickly removing my love of using a Macintosh.
From the TextEdit for Lion read me in the source code.
• TextEdit opts into Automatic Termination. However, this opt-in is done automatically by the system. Normally TextEdit would have had to put an entry for NSSupportsAutomaticTermination in its Info.plist or call -[NSProcessInfo setAutomaticTerminationSupportEnabled:YES].
WHY APPLE, WHY?
5 AM. I am not amused. Not one bit. |
