I've just checked some archive folders and a better estimate is 2 or 3 per 600 files. My application moves messages over 3 days old from Mail's Trash mailbox into an archive and I run it daily. Usually a dozen or two files. But I don't check the archive daily. I have a small AppleScript to repair this problem which I run as necessary.
