Greetings All Again>
Followup to my issue of trying to auto format PlainTextAlternative incoming email messages in Mail and having it stick…
Decided to create a stay-open script that checks every 2 seconds and formats the current selected message… works fine and doesn't need to 'activate' Mail so I can switch to other processes and not be bothered by Mail activation… beauty!!
However, I have plenty of try/endtry blocks around everything and after the script runs once on a particular message the PlainTextAlternative option is no longer available and the script errs, does carry on without a hitch, but plays the system error error sound… every 2 seconds. Is this normal? I thought with error trapping this should not happen.
Some might suggest I just turn the volume down but should we not have the option of playing sounds within scripts seeing as we have the 'beep' command to explicitly do so?
