Last week, I bought a new mini, last year's model, not the new one. All data on the old mini was moved to the new mini and the old mini disconnected. This should make alias files become confused " … because the original item can't be found."
Every alias file in my mail menu folder continued to point to the correct folder! Apple's alias files are robust and reliable. How do they do that?
I don't think symlinks are as robust and reliable as Apple's alias files.
