No, the problem is that his script has too many lines :-)

Seriously, what you're suggesting is a good way of getting out of hot water in a pinch, but it's just asking for the problem to come back and bite another day (or another version of AS). And throwing away useful aids like code formatting for the sake of longer scripts strikes me as the tail wagging the dog.

Five-thousand-plus lines? I shudder at the thought, never mind how much time could be wasted waiting for it to compile.

That said, I understand the temptation, given that loaded scripts are more-or-less a black box from a debugging point of view.
