Copy, Paste, Undo not working for applets in Mavericks

Applescripts saved as applications (.app) in previous versions of OS X used to allow me to use keyboard shortcuts and access to file menu items like cut, paste, undo. This isn’t working on Mavericks (10.9 Build 13A2093).

Is this also the case for anybody else in the group? Is there a new setting I’m missing or something?
