I was trying to use the run handler directly in order to avoid using 'launch application …'.
In other words, could I work-around the bug I reported in "launch broken in Mt Lion" ?
I guess not.
The StandardAdditions command 'run script …' does allow parameters, but it can't be used to call a compiled application, only a script file.

(It has been about 6 hours since my bug report submission and no response from Apple.):|
