Tom, have you run repair permissions? (Utiliies/Disk utility/Repair Permissions)
The fault might lie further up the hierarchy of folders.

Hi Santa,
At first I thought that it was a true Permissions Problem so I changed
permissions to read & write For (ME), Fetching and everyone, But I still got
the problem. So at your suggestion I changed the Folder Permissions to Read
& Write for (Me) and Read only for Fetching & everyone which was the
original setting. Result still Permissions Problems. I then moved some of
the files out of the work folder to the desktop and still Permissions
Problems. At first on Monday sometimes it would work but now it a hard
failure.
Totally confused
