Indeed! This wasn’t even my problem, and then I was dumb enough to say “Oh I think I could probably fix that for you...” !!!

Anyway, the problem with the PDF solution is the users want searchable text. I gave them a plain text solution several days ago, but that wasn’t good enough...it has to be prettified in its original formatting...and so here we are!

Saving as PDF seems to me to be a viable solution.
I have a script which saves Mail messages as PDF. The PDF document preserves all links and (I just checked) its text is searchable, at least in Preview. A similar script should work with Safari.
