I want a script I can send via ARD to a remote machine to have it do a manual home sync. Is it possible to do this using AppleScript or maybe even a shell script? I've found a few people asking this online but nobody has ever provided a solution. I
wasn't sure if it wasn't possible or what.
Users' accounts normally only sync during login and logout and I'd prefer not to use the MCX settings for synching every x amount of hours, etc. I want manual control for specific users.
During a homesync these 2 processes are running:
HomeSync - /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/HomeSync.menu/Contents/MacOS/HomeSync
FileSyncAgent - /System/Library/CoreServices/FileSyncAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/FileSyncAgent
I've checked the FileSyncAgent.app and it doesn't appear to have an AppleScript Dictionary.
This is low priority but I'm curious to know if it is possible.
Thanks,
Jeff
