I have a more realistic goal: to be able to GUI Script OpenOffice.org.
GUI Scripting an office suite? That sounds like a world of pain, Kaydell!! However, it looks like the API for OpenOffice understands _javascript_ from my brief scan at the site you linked to.
There was a _javascript_ component for the AppleScript Editor developed by Late Night Software (the same people behind the recently discussed Script Debugger app). I'm not sure if their JS component is still being developed or it if works in 10.8 (my attempts to make it so were unsuccessful, but that may well have just been my failing).
The webpage is here, though it doesn't look like its been attended to recently:
Perhaps other list members might know the current status of that project. I would certainly be interested in it if there's a working version (or any plans for one) for 10.8 and beyond.
nb: Python looks like another realistic option for programming OO.
