I think we're all well enough aware of your crusade by now, and this list is low-enough volume that the odd off-topic rant probably doesn't do much harm.
But just to try to veer it a bit closer to the topic of AppleScript, let me try some repetition.
This list isn't a channel to Apple. I suspect some of the AS team keep an eye out when they're not busy, but I also imagine/hope they're busy now. But even if they are taking in every word, they are not the people who need influencing. If people want to come here to vent, fine -- but that's all they are doing.
If they want to see AppleScript improve, they should (a) get a developer account if they don't have one (yes, you can get a free one: <https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/mac/index.action>), and (b) start logging bug reports and feature requests at <http://bugreport.apple.com>.
There's no guarantee that your bugs will be fixed or requests answered, as Luther will happily tell you. But there is the guarantee that people at Apple other than the AS team, and who are in the position to make things happen, will notice if there's sufficient feedback. And that's pretty much the only way they will.
As Jon Pugh said somewhere else today, it's the best thing you can do to give AppleScript visibility within Apple. And I suspect an upsurge in feedback in response to recent changes would send just the right message.
