I have posted a follow-up report complete with scripts for my bug ID 12988983.
This bug is closed, but shown as a duplicate of bug ID 12755152 (Open).
(I have no idea what bug ID 12755152 is. I have no access to this bug.)

Will anyone bother to pay proper attention to this ?

I can only hope!
