Hello list,
I am trying to get a sense of just what OS10.9’s new speakable workflows can offer. I know I can save a workflow and then speak its name to invoke it, but some videos I was watching suggested that I can do more. For instance, some examples let the user respond verbally to a yes/no choice and the workflow was able to understand the response. I am not sure how the video author did that, and I cannot find detailed documentation on this new feature. If anyone has a link to any such documentation, that’d be great. If not, can anyone just tell me how to set up secondary voice interaction past the initial launching of the workflow, and just how far it can go? That is, are subsequent voice inputs only for yes/no, or can they take any text and pass it to the script for further processing?
As an example, say you have to keep track of how many hours you spend on a project. You could verbally launch your workflow, by speaking its name: “I worked on my project”. The workflow would then ask, “for how long?” to which the user could respond with some number of hours. The workflow would take that number and add it to a text file, or add it to the previous number in a file and replace the old total with the new, or do any number of things. I can think of other examples, but again, I don’t know what voice interaction is possible after the initial launching of the workflow. Thanks in advance.
Have a great day,
Alex (msg sent from Mac Mini)
