An AppleScript user has a right to expect that "as text" follows the same rules when applied to a number as it does when applied to a class that essentially stores a number and is documented as being able to be coerced to text. When that doesn't happen, and there's no explanation provided for why it can't/doesn't/shouldn't behave that way, I'd call it a bug. YMMV, but calling it a "limitation" strikes me as bordering on sophistry. I'd also be willing to bet that it's entirely unintended.
