Tried export without async. I would say the difference is noticable for the same export testfile:
async export : 12 hours
foreground export: 20 minutes
I have been using async export because it is, with few and big files, usually a timesaver.
It will export 4 PDFs simultaneously using 4 CPU cores. On a multicore Mac, it will finish in a fraction of the time using async export.
A huge number of small files is obviously quite the opposite.
Thanks a lot!
