Nice description Deivy!  And I completely agree with your last statement.  A Mac is about as useful as a balsa wood boat anchor without AppleScript.

How do I use AppleScript?  More than a few ways - every few minutes I'm on the computer.

While the appended list of scripts isn't comprehensive it is pretty representative.  Most of them have keyboard shortcuts assigned with FastScripts.

(The list does not include all of the macros I have in Keyboard Maestro, or all the stuff I have in Typinator.)

I use Script Debugger for development (which has run 24/7 on my system since 1995).

Smile for testing and as a script server (a long time).

I use the bejeebers out of the Satimage.osax for text-processing and other tasks (since 2003).

BBEdit runs 24/7 on my system, because it's a good editor - but even more so because it's one of the most AppleScriptable apps on the Mac.

I use Safari as my main web browser - not because it's the best browser - but because it's the most scriptable one.

Most Mac users are astonished when you reduce a problem that took tedious hours to a keyboard-shortcut-driven-script that takes a couple of seconds.

Productivity is the name of the game.
