I work for a mutual fund company with $300B in assets. We have 30K lines of Applescript in active use.
Who knows if that's unusual, or common? Certainly not Apple. Apple is not interested in AppleScript users.
But I disagree that they need to be.
AppleScript is important to you and I. But to Apple? AppleScript, and the Macs bought because of it, isn't even a rounding error on their bottom line.
Think about other no-profit technolgoies - like XServes, Aperture, Mac Pros. Some of those get killed off.
I'd rather have Apple assume AppleScript is mildly important. That almost certainly overstates the matter.

And now we have the proper question, "how do we tell Apple how useful AppleScript is to us and how it makes/saves us money and in turn, makes them money"?
Sent from my iPad. Please pardon typos.

Or hell, just shitcan JXA entirely, return to their original plan of having app developers embed JSCore directly, and stop wasting *everyone's* time with this amateur hour piss-about.

And the fault is with the people as much as the code. I'm not kidding when I say I'm the only person on the planet who knows how to do it right, has done it right, and is appalled that this should be the case.
