I was afraid you were going to say that.
In my application, I get very good results with respect to speed, but I am usually looking at small folders.
The experimental script I submitted was run in 10.7.5.
I have noticed that some Finder operations that were slow in previous systems are now faster, so something seems to have been fixed.
You might want to experiment some more with this.
