strange app problem

Hi folks,

I wonder if anyone has seen something like the following:

I have an AppleScript application that runs other scripts. One of its handlers is called 'isNumber', which is very simple - it simply returns True if an input string can be made into a number.

One of my clients got this error message (after apparently running the app successfully for several years):

STSchedEng.app error number -1708:
<<script>> doesn't understand the isNumber message.

I'm not sure what <<script>> is referring to. It seems that whatever it is it is getting a message meant for STSchedEng.app.  I think the error occurs before an attempt is made to run the client's script, but I'm not sure - I'm awaiting more information.

Any ideas on what could be happening?

Thanks,

Don
