It was originally going to be the basis of a couple of extra chapters to my 'Everyday AppleScriptObjC' book, but it appears that there's not a lot of interest in that, so I figured I'd finish them off and post them here rather than completely waste the effort. I'm also posting them in the unScripted section of macscripter.net, so they don't just disappear.
I suppose I should have known better, but I'm a bit surprised about the general lack of enthusiasm for ASObjC. Yes, it's a bit harder to get into, but it rewards the effort on a grand scale, and is probably the only way AppleScript was ever going to get much more power.
Perhaps despite the grumbling, most people are pretty content with their little walled garden, and don't see any need to move out of their comfort zone. If that's true, it doesn't bode well for the future of AS, because we also don't seem to be getting a lot of new faces.
