First, changes that break UI scripting are not the result of "screwing around with AppleScript". If it happens, it will because of screwing around with how accessibility works. UI scripting is just a hack built on the back of accessibility.
Second, I haven't tested ASObjC Runner beyond 10.9, but this is what it has said on the Web page since the introduction of Mavericks:

However, the introduction of AppleScriptObjC-based libraries in Mavericks effectively removes the need for the AppleScriptObjC side of the application, and over time script libraries should obviate the need for the vanilla side. With that in mind, future updates will be limited to bug-fixes, and support will not continue beyond 10.9.
Nothing has changed since then.
