Well, I'm now back to seeing the "handler failed" error again on some albums (e.g., last import or the highest level container called "Photos" that appears above the Albums list). Properties on the selection seem only to be reliably returned when the selection's containder ID is the "All Photos" album.
THAT'S IT! I never even thought to try the script on a selection in the "All Photos" album. Now that I tried it there, the script works perfectly.
It also worked once for me in "Last Import," but it failed there the second time. And it always fails everywhere else (I tried everything else, including "Panoramas," "Bursts," and albums of my own making deeper into the folder structure).
Also, when running the script on a selection in the "All Photos" album, the script executes very quickly. In "Last Import" (whether it works or fails) and everywhere else, it runs for a long time before it completes or fails.
Before, I had always been runnning the script on a photo selected in an album inside a subfolder of a subfolder of the "iPhoto Events" subfolder of the "Albums" folder. And it always fails there.
So, have others on this thread also been successfully scripting the 'properties' of a 'selection' in the "All Photos" album? Where else does it work for you? |
