Is there some reason you can't have the visualiser app speak directly to iTunes via AppleScript or Scripting Bridge? Only my own lack of Obj-C/Swift and Cocoa knowledge. I’m just using a wrapper app that loads the QC composition and generates a very basic UI panel. All the coding will be inside the QC composition, which is visual programming with a little JS or Lua maybe just to parse incoming data. If there Apple has a few demo apps for Scripting Bridging I guess I’m sort of interested in learning but time poor.
The job isn’t big enough to warrant learning how to code an OS X app from scratch I don’t think.
