Dear Applescripters,
I have been a lurker on this site for years, and have learned a lot from examples and answers routinely given. I am an XTension home automation enthusiast with just limited, but successful AppleScripting experience.
For a new Rube Goldberg project, I have learned that I really need the services of an AppleScript user interface guru, and the App called Remote Buddy to pre configure and navigate a webpage on a conventional big screen.
There is a popular weather webpage called WunderMap. ( http://www.wunderground.com ) Type your location in, and press return… then select WunderMap. The website has a “share” feature to create a URL exactly to your location for future use.
I already have a AV network with a 6x6 matrix mixer to distribute signals to all our big screens run by programable Universal MX980 remotes. I want to pump the “pre configured” HDMI video output of Safari generated WunderMap from my XTension Mini to my AV network. The hardware part is already in place, and the Universal remote programing is also already handled.
However, even using Remote Buddy and already learning how to change the screen to Presentation full screen mode, and how to add scripts to make further customazation, that’s where I’m stuck as there is more pre configuration needed to the page before it hits the screen.
Specifically, I want to be able to push one Universal remote button to have WunderMap show up on a big screen already pre configured to the next 6 hour period to show our current live Doppler Radar for the next 6 hours. The site presently comes up by default displaying the last 4 hours.
I know how to do all this manually from a popup on the bottom of the preset WunderMap page, but doing it by AppleScript is beyond my AppleScript skills, though I've been told that it is very doable.
I am hoping that I can find someone here who is a AppleScript UI expert that I can pay to get these needed AppleScripts. If interested, please contact me directly at my email: email@hidden.
Thank you very much, and best wishes,
