Yes, holding control in Script Editor is problematic. But I wanted to use a modifier key, and the choices are limited. If I'd used option or shift, then it wouldn't work when run from FastScripts (where I use it) or the standard Scripts menu. Better to pick one that worked in those situations, I think -- it's not the sort of thing you'd run from Script Editor except for testing.
