I’ll never fight theories proposed by mathematicians, so normalization is very important.
However, the best DB software ever written did not have any of the stuff that you are requiring from FMP.
Unfortunately is no longer with us… Hypercard, which may be the best piece of software ever written.
Hypercard is gone, unfortunately.
The software I believe best mimics Hypercard is none of the xxxcard ones, it  is Smile.
Yes, Smile from Satimage.
And with quomodo, which I’ve never used, I know one may have a network backend to the db.
Now, because it lacks many of the functionalities of a db proper, one has to create a sound db from the get go.
I’ve used Smile to create kind of a db for my wife’s business and it was very simple to use and did everything it was necessary.
Besides, with Smile, one can have a GUI interface for DB Events.
Obviously more work to begin with, but much more customization.
