Some people do, and there are a lot of others for whom it might not be a title but for whom it makes up a fair slice of their jobs. Mainly in the publishing industry, where workflows are often clearly defined and many of the tools highly scriptable.

There's also freelance work around, although like any freelance work, making money from it generally requires good business skills.
