Initially, I wrote the entire production process/pipeline from design asset production, asset file generation, source code coordinate file creation, asset graphic optimization and delivery of those to development for Verizon's FiOS TV all in AppleScript.
A pipeline from Illustrator -> Photoshop -> assets and code -> optimization -> finder copies -> SVN commits into the graphics repo.
Later it was wrapped with Xcode as a compiled app. Woot for Xcode 3.whatever.
I think I must have used some ASOC bridging at some point.
So, at a time I used AppleScript for my job. It was a tool I picked up that helped me complete the process I envisioned, I was not in a position that was advertised as an AS developer.

This kind of work is valuable to many people, but it's unlikely to be advertised as an AppleScript developer position, the way a C# developer position would be.

I'm one of many people that got started doing print production technical support, which naturally led to AppleScript use. While I've been paid a lot of money to write AppleScripts, my job title has never been "AppleScript developer".
