Hi Luther,

Okay, I'd not heard this one before, but I'm impressed with your advice. You're right about it clearing cobwebs. The safe-followed-by-regular-reboot fixed a long-standing problem with low-resolution Finder icons *and* I got a dialog box offering to resolve a system font conflict. I will plan to do this at least once a month from now on.
