FWIW, you can speed up the Finder version by adding "as alias list" -- but it's still flogging a near-dead horse.
Hello Shane The original test file failed after 3 hours 20 minutes.
I tried to make an other attempt with a timeout of 400 * 60 secondsafter editing the instruction : set allMyStuff to entire contents of myFolder as alias list
I got : Résultat : error « Erreur dans Finder : Impossible d’achever l’opération. » number -8058
I made an other attempt with timeout of 5 * 60 * 60 seconds - but without the as alias list coercion. At the end of the 5th hour I got
error "Erreur dans Finder : Délai dépassé pour un AppleEvent." number -1712 Too bad. I will have an other reason to work without speaking to the Finder.
