Hi all again,
As stated in an earlier post, the new version of Calendar (Yosemite or El Capitan) makes creating an event in Calendar take for ages if your calendar is full. In my 8000+ events calendar, that delay could go to 2.5 minutes.
I have reduced that by starting to use the UID references that I now store in a field of Filemaker when creating events. In that way, no need to search for an event based on it’s content. Modifying an event is way faster. (~1 second, even my full calendar).
Now. I have noticed the UID seem to be unique, regardless of the calendar. If I take an event and move it (manually) to another calendar (which I can do, manually), it’s UID stays the same. And I can keep addressing it by UID.
My question to you guys - how can one script moving an event from one calendar to another?
All my searches keep pointing to duplicating the data to a new event in the target calendar and then deleting the old event. Beats the point of using UIDs, nah?
Many thanks for your insight, guys. And girls. Sure there are some too out there in our AS world…
Best,
J.
