Yes. The first URL is the same as the one I provided in my original query.
The forum doesn't tell me what software installed the damn thing on my system.
So "Google it." doesn't help very much.
I've spent quite some time researching that thing and not found much that was useful.
In the first pointed page, you may find explanations with the osax source file as well as a link to the related TotalFinder. With the sources you may learn what the tools do and what they install. The second one points to a question-answer forum in which I read that on 2014/08/25 Liferay wasn't compatible with Yosemite.If I understand well, it install its own code in Finder's one so I doubt that it will be usable with El Capitan.
