Is there some kind of activity monitor that would allow me to understand what's happening? Not sure running the script from the editor returns the same responses.
Have you done any debugging, like adding "say 1", "say 2", etc between lines of the script so you can follow its progress and figure out where it's hanging? That should be step #1.
